LOL.. I responded to one once and got some song and dance from the seller about having to make an emergency trip to Omaha NE due to a divorce and wanted to know if I would send some money to "hold the vehicle" until they could get back to town to sell it. Crazy stuff.

Last spring, I responded to a truck ad at an actual "store front" used car dealer. So I called the evening before and drove to their location and there was no truck to be found. So the guy there said the owner sent it to the auction that morning before I got there at 8:30. Yeah right. As soon as pulled out of the parking lot, my phone started blowing up with text messages and robo calls offering "on the spot" financing. They were just baiting people to look for prospects to sell some type of sub-prime auto financing. I couldn't prove a connection. Though, it was just a little too coincidental.

Yea lol I don't hate it but in hindsight I wish I had gone with something less permanent. It rattles a lot and I just really don't find myself using it nearly as much as I thought I wound.

    Lolol

It's a frustrating waste of time.
I see, so they use the ad, not to sell the car, but to sell the buyer a little bit of hope on a half price car and they try to get buyer to send a hundred or 500 to hold it yada yada
Wow man... It's sad that people get to the point of selling out their last bit of dignity for a few hundred bucks... Unless they are addicts then all bets off. They have no idea what they're doing and the addiction doesn't even let them see/feel/hear anything right.
Hopefully there really is a seperate place for those kinda folks that are perfectly conscious of their actions and they are still willing to do that kinda sheet to others...

Do you know if the Thule bar system for first gen actually holds nice and firm? A couple folks said it works here, I just wonder if it'd hold up like with a rack and 50 lbs in it and running offroad or something. The actual screwed in one might be best for that. But I'm just speculating
    How was night #1? :D
