I remember the factory harness for the tow hitch itself, when I ordered my tow hitch from toyotaparts whatever site (this was before I knew about Camelback), I tried forever to track down that harness. Wanted that little OEM bracket attachment on the tow hitch. Finally gave up looking and haven't thought about it since.

The cap harness - that is interesting. Wonder if it was more regional (?). When I was shopping for my 02, I remember pouring over all the documentation since I was dead-set on ordering. I had specifics that I wanted and didn't want to deal with generic dealer inventory.

Before anyone mentions it, yes - if I had a damn wayback machine I'd go back and tell myself to ignore the sales rep and purchase a 4WD instead of the PreRunner. :bananadead: Never again.

It's a pretty crap harness, Toyota had a service campaign to replace the converter boxes since they failed often. I have one in storage when the time comes I replace my Curt with it, but honestly the Curt is probably more reliable.

Tell you what... I've mentioned it before a couple of times but I LOVE having the cap. I picked it up (used of course) when my son was born since I wanted to be able to toss some of his gear in the back and have it secure (stroller, pack and play, etc.). Such a useful addition and it really compliments the truck.

If you plan on doing any sort of camping or whatever though, forget the cap. Invest in this system:

and go with a HARDSHELL RTT. You end up with the best of both worlds. You have the RTT and you still retain your bed space. Completely adjustable and much better than the older bed racks and RTTs. With iKamper's under 1 min deployment time, its bad ass. If I had a Tundra, this would be the route I would take.

I'll just share the pic of my buddy's tundra setup. I want that setup.

If not camping though, go with the cap. Make sure you option it out. All the trimmings.

I’m torn. The diamondback tonneau can haul shit on top of it and it’s removed easily if I need height.

the cap has height but if you need more it’s a bitch to remove a 8ft cap. The tundra has stake pockets so a ladder rack is easy to setup. I probably won’t do a rtt. But I may eventually.. I’m really not sure yet. 8ft bed I could have a damn rtt mansion

I usually never have an issue falling asleep. I'm usually on the other end where it's 830 pm and I'm asleep with the lights on fully dressed

Not if you build a support stand or go with a ceiling lift. I seem to recall you having some property to at least cover a support stand.

Absolutely! With so much room to spare in the bed.

I saw a 4WD T100 today. Couldn't snap a picture in time but really nice build out.

    It really is.
I could easily setup a system to remove it in the garage. I just don’t have ceiling To store it because of the garage door openers
