Because every manual Nissan RWD car came with a CD009 since like 2003 they're super easy to come by and swap kits are on the rise for most any platform that makes power. I've even seen them for LS instead of the shitty shifting Tremec T5 and T56. I've got two from wrecks that a friend pulled for me and him to put in our Z's. But I don't really plan to make more than 450-500hp so I dunno if I'll bother just for the extra gear.

that extra gear can really make it more enjoyable to drive on long distance trips if its geared like id think a 6 speed would be

Sure sounded like a long ass power band there but I don't know that stuff like you guys do. I know I love the sound though and just how precision and perfect and true stuff has to be to be able to run at those types of rpm omg:drool:

Yeah, you can make them work like a clutchless. The sequential kits face the gear set for shifting strength, but it helps if you use a strain gauge on the shift handle to let the ECU pull timing and ease the shift, makes it smoother under super high horsepower shifts.

stock cams and springs 7400 rpm will make power and seems safe. (ive been running a 7300 rpm redline on my avalon for over a year now). with valve springs and cams 8k is easy to achieve with a stock bottom end. The VVTI makes the power band very broad which is beautiful for drive ability. being able to phase the cams allows the peak power band to move with engine load/demand..

The Jerico boxes are the old fashioned way of doing a clutchless setup and are probably fine to about 350-400hp, but they're designed for light circuit racing typically. They're not for high powered applications under full stress like drag racing. Nowadays we use hardened gearsets and use faceplated gear synchros still but in the pull handle for the shifter there is a strain gauge, as soon as you put the pulling or pushing stress on the handle for a shift it tells the ECU in a split second "hey this asshole is gonna shift" that way you dont have to mash the clutch or let up on the gas still and the ECU will either pull timing to ease the stress momentarily (you wouldnt feel it and you wouldn't lose your boost) or it will ignition cut and antilag will kick in to keep the turbo spooled (again wouldn't lose the spool and won't feel it). But it helps you shift faster and with all your power in the game but without jarring and wearing the everliving shit out of the sequential trans. All depends what you choose to do for your specific setup, but the basis is you put force on that shifter and the ECU changes a variable to make it easier to shift in a split second and when the strain gauge on the handle reads you aren't pulling or pushing anymore it determines shifting is done and goes full tilt again all so fast you wouldn't notice.

It truly is amazing, even better than flatfoot shifting a faceplated H-pattern manual.
