1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

My wife's aunt and uncle have a '14 Rav4 they want us to take off their hands, 80k miles on it. We're thinking about it

 

Father's Day happens to be a really confusing holiday in Chicago

they're good cars.. just make sure the oil aint burning and if the trans is shuddering its covered for 10 years or 150k miles.

 

Yeah they're older and drive as such, and her uncle used to be a mechanic so they know how to maintain a vehicle. I have no doubts its in great shape, just debating if it's worth buying a 80k mile used vehicle outright from them or using that money instead on a good sized down payment on a new car with a warranty.

meh the new cars arent worth it. i hate the new 8 speeds. weve already got issues with them and grinding noises and just full on failing.. too soon to jump on one

As for new ones I'm looking at those 6 speed 4 door Corolla hatchbacks. Enough room for the 3 of us and not priced high

ohh if your going stick those are pretty good little cars. engines still too new to tell. but it seems like they should be good cars.

 

Needs something to break up the plain grey. Just to much grey
