Well it is a dealership. Can probably have a cheaper service dept to run with a rotating door of nincompoops than with 7 well paid good tech

I'd be rolling my box out the door mad if that happened to me. I'm not suggesting that to you though. I have no idea what the job market is currently like. I gave up looking for gainfull employment at 50. Correction: employers stopped looking at hiring 50+ ers.

Trust me, if I had a flat bed with me I would be out and starting at a new job by Monday:

it's one of the more mentally strenuous but not physically strenuous jobs that you can still do that's a trade. And don't worry they never stick an old person in front of a CNC. They know older folks have trouble turning G-Code and M code into a position in the Cartesian plane. Old folks just end up crashing cnc's and costing money

I sincerely doubt the coordinates would challenge my intellect but the mind numbing repetitive boredom presents a real challenge. I have specd, designed and machined custom heavy equipment split bearings that worked IRL.Only orders from the boss were here's the address, take a look. I would still do that except for the BS from the youngsters and making same weekly bank in a day now.

What about moving to a private shop?

All good bud. I just need to put together a solid action plan and get started. One way or the other. Thx again.

Will say one thing for overtime boy, he's in the right field. As temps rise, more and more demand for functional AC. Going to see a huge uptick in demand for experienced HVAC techs.

What about private shops? I would think that staying in the business since you already have the experience is only going to continue to open up new doors as the demand begins to increase for Hybrid/Full Electric. Toyota still requires (and provides) up to date certification, right?
