I just remember being utterly impressed with how it was packaged.

 

I remember them having a 3 or 4 pack spring waaaayyy back. Gave like 1.5". Wouldve been perfect for my truck.

Interesting though that they used General Spring. Such a cheap brand.

 

I completely understand saying "finally the truck will be back this weekend" and then having all your hopes and dreams crushed. I've been saying this for the past few weeks. And that half the time something like this happens it's 5:01pm on a Friday.

i keep debating doing leafs on the tundra... its the only part that hasnt been replaced on the suspension at this point... deaver makes a nice "expedition" pack that would tow just as good as factory.. but i dont like the 3" height in the back would look... right

 

oh i have to add, your air bags in your packaging went to good use. Poor kid didnt see them under the tires and just bout shit his pants when he backed up

 

Nah I sent mine to another dude. I used an apple box that I had from when I worked produce at the grocery store. Then wrapped it like a present in paper from my current job. Was $57 for 3 day priority from NC to HI.

 

Pretty much all Dakar packs are built with multiple overloads and to lower them a touch you remove one or two

 

I wish you could have seen my face, I'm still impressed to this day. The airbox is looking and feeling prime time by the way thank you again.

i dont think ive seen off the shelf Dakar packs for 1st gen tundras. i'll have to dig.

 

Glad it worked out for ya, I remember wanting to get the physical dimensions of the box as small as I could so I did some origami getting it in there.

 

I had a firecracker thrown at me while troubleshooting an electrical panel the other day. It was off, but still got me off guard haha.

 

Yeah, but I got them in 285/75/16 and price matching walmart made them $134 a tire

 

Not bad. I got my tires for $150 per. And an additional $100 off.

 

im going to see what dealer tire cost is.. if its cheap enough i might just order my wheels and tires next month.

 

Thankfully this is not my daily driver and my project truck. I remember my jaw dropped when I saw the shock explode. But my mechanic buddy is coming back and we are gonna tackle it on thursday, Tie rod ends look shitty too so gonna do that as well. Im excited to just drive it to town(expired safety, expired reg ) BUT insured and power wash the shit out of this thing.

 

Yeah for a set of 5 33" LT rated tires I can't complain being out the door $856
