Wow, that’s fascinating. I’ve seen wooden boats built from scratch but never a metal boat.

Oddly enough, the plans I used were for a wooden boat. No one had plans for an alloy boat in the size I wanted.

Do you have to get a vessel like that registered?

Not typically unless it is over 5hp motor wise

Its used for floating down rivers that have very shallow depth and lots of rocks. Its for fishing. I plan on using it to catch more of GUkRnawxywybTt9DUh2M6yonuD0uDNJ7azDG6D6__badcd70ceb032d764cb5abcdabaa32b361f3b038.jpg these.

True, and I'm glad I don't have to screw up the finish with boat numbers.

How long did all the turning take or did the sheets come like that?

I got yelled at for eating it all haha
My old neighbor raced bikes. Went down bad in one and the metal protector plate over his kneecap got so hot it burnt a large hole in his knee. Poor dude. Super cool guy though. He flew helicopters before he got into street bikes
If that is a rainbow, that is the biggest rainbow trout Ive ever seen!

    Oh.

All I used was a scotch brite grinding pad on a right angle air drill.

Each side is roughly an hour.

Each swirl was done with a slow count to 5. My hands ached for a week. It does look cool and covers up scratches I put in the alloy. I don't mind the scratches, I just would rather put them in on the river.

Yes. My biggest one ever. Its getting mounted this fall.

33 incher on a 5 wt fly rod. I grabbed the wrong rod that day. I only had a 6 lbs leader. My buddy Mike was able to run my boat down river so I could follow the thing and land it. He gets a huge amount of credit for running the boat. The river is full of logs, rocks and sand bars. He was able to get thru the messes somehow with out hitting bottom with the prop.

I turned to fly fishing because I'm basically lazy. Fuck all that reeling. Get the lure or fly in the water to catch more fish.

Out of my group of regulars, I'm the only one that fly fishes. I also catch more fish. A fly rig will have the lure in the water 50% more than a spin casting rig. Easy math for more fish.
