I have the billstein 5100 toytec 3” lift add a leaf on a 2004 Tacoma 4cyl 2.7l 4x4. What clip should I put the strut on to achieve a 3” lift.

I'm confused. Its 3" already - wouldn't it be the clip its already in?

    What clip?

    Do I need more coffee?

Put it on the bottom ring for 3"

Here is my truck on the bottom ring.

I ended up putting it in the middle ring before I went with King's.

They handle bumps better and feel smother on and off the road.

If springs provides the lift, does the clip only adjust the dampening?

The dampening is affected since the shocks will be under more preload, making the ride feel stiffer.

This is why you have a lot of people complain about how "shitty" the ride feels even with a quality coilover; too much preload does that.

So eventually you went with the 3 notch on strut did it affect your axles or boots.

Yep. My first lift after a shitty spacer lift, was that Bilstein / Eibach coil 3” lift w/ 1.5” AAL. Same as the Toytec
The Eibach coil provided 3” of lift on the bottom notch of the 5100.
Then I went to Icon & finally King!
    :rofl::rofl::rofl:
My truck is a DC with the 3.4 though. So more weight in the front. Not too much though.
I thought I read that the Toytec / 5100 3” lift wasn’t recommended for the lighter trucks. Standard cab or 4 cyl
    Could be wrong though.
Here’s what it looked like when installed.
Good luck with whatever you set it at.
