1st Gen overland bed racks

Does anyone know if Jeep Gladiator bed racks/accessories fit 1st Gens? The dimensions of the truck bed apear to be close to identical. If they do fit that opens up a lot of cool options.

 

Gladiator racks will fit 2nd and 3rd gen Tacoma’s, but not 1st gen.

The 1st gen bed is wider.

1st Gens are too old to really have any new support, and some support has already dropped the 1st Gen.

Is there a reason you are thinking of fitting a gladiator rack onto your tacoma? Are you being given one for free or something.

 

Just asking the question since there isn’t much out there for our 1st Gens and the aftermarket support for the Gladiators is huge right now

Appreciate the info. I’m comparing my options…the aftermarket support out here in Texas is not as big as the West coast

 

It's the Jeep community in general.

They keep things the same for a lot of models so it's easy to mass produce a bumper that fits on many year models.

Not to mention, Jeep has become it's own sort of 'cult' even for those that don't off-road; add-ons (including lift and big wheels) have become more of a fashion statement than anything else with those guys.

Companies are able to capitalize on that with the Gladiator for a variety of reasons.

Plenty of Gladiator owners are, or were, Wrangler owners. Those that always wanted a Wrangler, but never got one (due to the lack of bed) finally had their prayers answered when they came out with the Gladiator. Just means the cult grew larger.

Son of a bitch!! Is that another x = y with 1st gens? As in all double cabs are automatics. If so I had no idea. I’ve been outed without my knowledge everywhere I go. Dammit
