    Just had a replacement rear bumper put on my 2003 Tacoma part number 00228-35981-13. This was my third time going back since all were damaged or had ripples on each side of the ends. Anyone had this issue with a replacement oem bumper? Really pissed since they're so expensive.

    I ended up buying an OEM style aftermarket one on Amazon. The awesome part is the genuine Toyota step pads fit perfect with no modding and no one knows the difference. I did coat the backside with Waxoyl

    @Itchyfeet
    Did you notice any rippling on either side?

    @Itchyfeet
    Also how's the quality of it (since it isn't a Toyota bumper)?

    I don't know what a mint factory bumper looks like. My factory bumper had a chrome peeling issue and my dealer threw out the my boat payment is late price of $500 plus for a new one. I have noticed a ripples on the very edge where where the bumper faces the the bed sides. I'm pretty picky and hate aftermarket parts, but anything was better than peeling chrome. I had zero issues fitting it and the chrome quality is ok. I did sell the step plates it came with for $25. You can buy this bumper cheaper without the backer bar, but I would not recommend going that way unless you live in a real dry state. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MYG8L2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
