Nope i haven't. If you have a 5 speed its not as necessary IMO. For Autos i think it'll help a lot.

I plan on regearing to 4.88s for 35s.

Chimin in late, but what's the difference between mounting them like || and / \ or using hoops on the outside of the frame? Need to replace my shocks and want to relocate just not sure where/how I want to do it yet.

l l Gives you the best stability on the road

/ \ Gives you more flex, but the more of an angle the less stability on the road.

Hoops on the outside of the frame would get hit by the tire flexing.

Keep in mind that when you have a two piece driveline, the horizontal angle of the pinion must match the horizontal angle of the first driveline within 3 degrees (from the trans to carrier) or you will get vibration that will be barely noticable until symptoms of carrier bearing failure appear
    jus sayin'

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
This ^ that said I drove for well over a year with this set up and the truck handled nice. And there is no way to fit the shocks outside the frame on A 1st gen without frame mods.

The pinion angle was never changed in this install

Yeah, I've seen those. They would work great for something that is strictly LT with a tundra axle or wheel spacers. But if you plan to flex the rear at all expect to hit it with your tires...

Just get a tundra axle with it..problem solved..haha

I would like to clarify somehting in this thread.

/\ doesn't mean more flex..it just mean you get more wheel travel out of a shock as its not working in line but at an angle. So you can get the same wheel travel of a 10'' shock mounted || as you could with an 8'' mounted /\...or so..thats just an example. many other factors into play.

If you set the angles right you won't notive a big change in valving for most situations. I did a buddies slightly /\ but because they were moved closer to the axle then a stock shock in terms of vertical angle..the valving feels pretty much the same.

^This. angling the shocks (regardless of direction) is more about fitment than travel. I've run shocks in the /\ configuration and on a dedicated rock crawler it's fine, but for a truck that still sees the streets and higher speeds in the dirt the || setup behaves much better.
