Just put on a cap for gear storage (does this count as a mod?)
I do like the look of the 1st gen. alloy wheel. I have the opprotunity to purchase a set of (4) 16" wheels w/ 265's.
Question: I have a 2009 Taco, non-TRD, steel wheels. Will the 1st gen wheel fit my truck ( bolt patter, backspacing).
I also know that the 1st gen wheels are pre-TPMS. Is it possible to remount the sensors on the alloy wheels, or just ignore / remove dash lite.
Thanks in advance for any information you may provide

I have a set of First gen steel wheels on my 05 they fit just fine. Can't help you with the TPS. My truck doesn't have it.

I've started to look into this since I like the looks of the older ones too. As opiestaco notes, they fit. I think that even the backspacing is the same.

I've been told that there are 2 kinds of TPS; one for the steel wheels and one for alloy wheels. I suspect that the alloy ones would fit. Hopefully someone can confirm this.

You are correct- and the steel wheel sensors will not work with the current alloy rim, but I am not sure if a new alloy sensor with work with a older style alloy rim?
