I just picked up my 2012 Tacoma Access cab 4x4 (I-4 5-speed) this Monday with 103mi on the odometer. Last night I left home for a 265mi road trip to family's for Thanksgiving. I did take back roads most of way so I wouldn't leave cruise on for too many miles per the owners manual break in procedures. Currently at 420 miles.

I'll admit I'm impressed. Quiet is the word is for the stock tires. No road noise up to 75mph at times. Outside noise is very minimal. This is a tight quiet truck! Using the cruise concerned me at first but I put that thought away. When using cruise in 5th gear it maintained speed just fine with no hesitations. I'm talking somewhat aggressive hills in S.E. Ohio/WV. The little guy just kept on going.

My mpg for 1st fuel refill was 20mpg! Thats a combination of city/hwy. No complaining on my end. Hopefully it will improve as the miles rack up. Speaking of stock tires, they are not so good. I had to lock in 4x4 going up brothers driveway in WV which is steep, wet and muddy. When locked in up I went with no problems! I'll burn these tires up first unless winter screws with me living on Lake Erie and those snow storms. Time will tell.

Hopefully this helps out new owners out wanting a comparison. Feel free to ask any other questions since I know I didn't cover everything.
