2.4L mods?

    I see 2.7 header threads and 2.7 this and 2.7 that. but What I want to know, is there anyone out there who has the 2RZ 2.4L engine and have they done anything to it? i have a 2.4L 2rz motor, basically stock, magnaflow behind cat.... what do YOU have?

    Built for maximum low end torque, tooter II.VII intake manifold spacer, LCE long tube header, Injen long tube intake, 2,900 rpm torque peak.
    I had a 2.4 for 17 years and ran an LCE header on it for a decade.

    It was by far the best mod I ever did because it increased the low end torque.

    That header is CARB compliant for 1999 and older Tacos, so they'll pass your smog tests. Mine passed for years with no problems. :thumbsup:

    YAY.. thats awesome to hear. the guy i just took mine to was all like (is it original? i cant pass if its not original)... guess he didnt like the sound of my magnaflow muffler. lol

    I averaged 25mpg around town and 28mpg on the freeway. With the header I could short shift the engine without lugging it because of the increased low end pull.

    I had a 98 tacoma single cab with athe 2.4 motor with LCE headers, magnaflow muffler in stock location with stock piping and AEM intake, sounded like a honda but it was quicker than stock for sure.

    Also I had an LCE short shift kit, light weight flywheel and 2 stage clutch for quick shifts.

    Was lowered with a frame notch sitting 4 inch lower in front and 6 inch lower in rear, Drove like a go kart.

    My MPG's were mid 20's

    What size tire did you run?

    I'm thinking of running 245/45/17, with stock ride height.
