2.7l 2tr-fe 2nd gen engine modifications.

Hey guys, this is my first post on here and i’ve been an avid viewer of the website. But i noticed whenever someone brings up beefing up their engine the majority response is either one of those happy snails sitting under the hood or s/c. i understand those are the most effective but i want to explore other possibilities for performance.

also, i’ve read that the 2.7l is undertuned. has anyone tuned their 2.7l without a turbo or s/c?(interested in hearing about 2.4l as well)

note: i dont know a whole lot about cars.
