I had the clutch replaced on my 2011 2.7l ac 5speed 4x4 about 6 months ago. Just within the past month I have started to notice what sounds like a slipping sound right after I shift into 2nd. It doesn’t happen every time and seems to happen as I’m shifting into 2nd and accelerating. between 1800 and 2200 rpms. The noise lasts for about a second then goes away. The truck drives great other than the noise, no gear slipping, no vibrations.

I thought it could be the throwout bearing based on something I read on a bmw site but it doesn’t seem to resemble what other people have posted here about their 2.7l throwout bearing, I don’t notice any noise at idle.

I will be bringing it into the shop but any ideas are very much appreciated.

    Thank you!

Any thoughts? It sounds like a whirring noise but very quick and only when I first engage 2nd with just the right amount of acceleration.

I also can’t seem to replicate it anymore, and it hasn’t happened in a few days. But I know when sound stops it doesn’t mean the problem has.
