2.7L guys what are you running for front suspension and how does it ride? I am running Bilstein 5100s with eibach 3" coils. Even with my front bumper and winch the truck rides like a brick looking to soften the ride appreciate any input.

I see some RC and AC guys running 5100s with ome coils. I am thinking of trying out the 884 coils as the spring rate is lower but not sure that will solve my problem.

    Thanks in advance

What about some stock coils? Aren't they like 550lb?

Also Eibach coils and 5100s are supposedly valved for optimum compatibility. My guess is you have too much preload, too much weight on the wrong coils.

The eibach coils are 620lbs and I am running them on the bottom rung it's definitely not a preload issue and I think if I had a v6 DC with a bumper and winch this set up would probably be just right. I installed the lift before the bumper and winch and the truck essentially bounced down the road it was brutal. i believe the issue is not enough weight. I know they are built to be used together but they are far from optimal for RCs I am actually surprised Toytec would even list them for RCs based on my experience of how they ride

    Because they're mated pairs.

    Try 884s.

    Don't preload them.

590 lb coil rates. Here is my truck in 884s, also 2.7.

X2. I'm thinking I'll go with 5100's all around with 884's and a 1.5AAL in the rear. Any input?

I am running 5100s all around I like the 5100s and AAL in the rear but up front is stiff as can be. I may try the 884s all though TYetti made a valid point to me about going to Icons which would be ideal but gotta save my pennies

Does your truck sit level with that setup? I'd love to drop money like that, I just don't need reservoirs or suspension of that extent haha

My nose sits higher with the eibach 3" coils I would suggest going for the 884 coils. And maybe even the ome shocks. If I could take my original decision back i would not have chosen 5100s and eibachs but c'est la vie...the 5100s might be alright with the 884 but I don't know that for sure

I hear that icons are soft at low speeds but stiff at higher speeds. Kings are stiffer at low but soft at high speeds. Don't take my word for it though i could be misremembering. Also icons come preloaded to the weight of the taco. Just my two cents

My first lift was 5100s with stock coils at .85 (and also at 1.75) and a 3 leaf AAL.

The lift pictured there is OME shocks, OME 884X, OME Dakars and 265/75/16 Cooper ATPs on Level 8 MK6 wheels.

I have fox 2.0 coils on my truck with about 2.5" of lift in the front. I think it is great compared to stock. Completely smooths the ride out. 20170316_163708.jpg 20170316_163739.jpg

Good looking truck man! Are you running an AAL in the back?

Thanks I bet they would ride nice with my extra weight up front. Good looking truck man

I didn't even think of Fox never mind 2.0s on the taco...I had fox 2.0s on my old silverado, best money I ever spent on a vehicle I think that is what I am going to go for thanks for throwing that out there! Cheers!

I think Fox is the way to go, for the price they can't be beat. The 2.0s can't be adjusted like a normal coil over though. The spring must be compressed first, other than that they are sweet. Also have the fox resi in the rear. Totally changed the ride from stock.

My silverado used to float like a butterfly and sting like beamer when I upgraded to the 2.0s they really are a fantastic bang for buck. I never even really thought about putting them on my truck until you said it
