*edit so I don't sound stupid*

I kind of think he has a point about the confusion factor here. I posted a couple weeks ago about contacting Fiberwerx because I thought you were just trying to get a company to bring this offering to the table. I didn't think you were going to make the parts yourself. I thought you were just letting some other company use your truck because it has the parts you described on it....

As far as idea stealing goes... Welcome to the business. I have had one of my big concepts stolen and replicated and it's not that fun. But it is how the business works. That's why there are 5+ companies that offer rebuild-able shocks, look at UCAs or Sliders... Show me an original idea in any of those markets. Everyone has a twist but it's all the same. This is just how the business works. People adapt good ideas and we all grow together as an industry. As I have learned in the past through a similar experience, you will learn to hold your cards a little closer. If you share your concept before you have anything to show or sell, you are sharing it for the whole world to see and potentially replicate. I can't speak for others in the game, but I know that I won't share a concept or gauge interest on a new product until I have a test product in hand and can start taking orders soon. Yes it's more financially risky up front, have to eat the costs to create your idea... But in the long run if someone copies your concept how much in potential sales did you just lose...

Just my two worthless sense. I love your truck/build, it's awesome! And as many have stated I would love to see this concept come to fruition!!! I need these!!!! So please keep up the good work and let us know when you have something we can all drool over!!!!

holy fawk - o.k I can see where that would be confusing. That statement was in response to another shit storm of misunderstandings in the infancy of this idea. Yes, I am not the physical manufacturer producing the final product but it is my idea, I am doing all of the R&D, I am creating the mock ups myself ( on set 3 currently ) and then they will be " manufactured " by someone local that actually knows how to "manufacture" these vs me only knowing how to build a set for myself.

Yes stock width, but with spindles and 1.25 spacer. With a LT 2+ kit I'd take the spacer off

I had close zero interest in putting glass on my truck until I found this thread. The concept of these fenders sound awesome to me. I don't need long travel, but would love to clear 35s without going to a drop bracket lift. Midtravel with these fenders and 35s would be perfect for me.

He isn't manufacturing them in his own garage, but that doesn't mean he isn't footing the initial investment cost

Also since so many were asking for long bed and being ignored, long bed flares are up for grabs and the OP has no reason to get pissed.

You know, I've stayed out of this but now I've got to say something. There are threads about McNeil products out there where allot of this discussion belongs. I understand that it is a forum for all of us but a little consideration for a regular guy that's interested in investing his own money to have a product created for all of us to have access to is in order.

I have McNeil fenders on my Tacoma. It's my truck on his website when you go to the +2 product page. But if someone else were to make a complete set of fenders and bedsides for my truck that support a shell I'm certainly paying attention. If @Evenflow turns out to be that person then odds are I'm going to be selling what I have once I replace them with his new set.

All of this justification for derailing the thread is the internet equivilant of saying that since you work in the resturant it's okay to rub your dick on the plates.

:crapstorm:UPDATE: Just got off the Phone with Mcneil and a 2" Bulge flat top with gas door will be available by the end of the year. Also for additional cost they will fill in the cut out for Factory bumper cap (like the first gens), this will look clean if you are not going to run the Factory rear bumper and run a Pre-runner tube style.

Think OP may hold off on releasing prototype until he is 100% ready for sale after the mcneil fiasco
