Hey guys. Wondering if anyone has had this issue and whats been done to fix it. My 2013 tacoma TRD sport with 115K recently stared having transmission issues. Check engine light came on showing solenoid pressure control and solenoid shift. Also shifts hard into drive, 2nd 3rd and 4th gears, and i mean very hard. Trying to avoid expensive repairs, might need a rebuilt or swap but hopefully not.

No leaks. Had the fluid flushed 2 years ago by a shop.
    Codes were
    P2714 pressure control solenoid D
    P0771 shift solenoid E
    P0746 shift control solenoid A

With multiple codes it could be electrical, solenoid, or pump issues.

But since it’s shifting hard is it possible that there’s internal damage? Debris in the transmission, shavings from gears, damaged torque coveter.

Will the transmission fluid completely drain out in order to replace the TCC solenoid?

I think you have to take the pan off, so yes. Edit: The first time I changed one I was so scared you couldn’t have hammered a finishing nail into my ass but I did it and you can, too!

Always begin your diagnosis by fixing the codes in the order they appear .
Unusual for multiple codes all at once like this and I am wondering if there is an issue with the wiring harness from the transmission going up to the computer in your truck .

Your truck is in limp mode and its going to shift hard until the codes are cleared . Limp mode is a built in safety program used to prevent further damage to the transmission .

What would I do If your truck was in my shop ?
Clear all the trouble codes after recording them ofcourse , then with the key on but engine not running , perform a re-scan . Do all the codes come back up after you cycle the ignition key ? If they do , I would do a wiring harness wiggle test .
During an ingition cycle , the computer in your truck sends a message to all the solenoids and sensors in the transmission and expects a quick reply . If the computer doesnt get a reply , you get codes .

I suspect a loss of connection somewhere in your wiring harness .When this happens , the most likely cause is a dirty connection where the wiring harness case connector bolts to the transmission . Very very common.
