I am looking to lift/level my '17 Tacoma Off-road by about 2" (2" Front + 1" Back) and wanted confirm the best way to do so.
From what i've read so far, the Bilstein 5100 'Complete Shock and Strut Kit' is a decent option if i'm interested in improved off-road performance without making my in town ride too uncomfortable. Let me know if i'm incorrect here.
My main question is around the need for things like:
-Do i need a 1" Rear Block Kit in addition to the 5100 rear shocks?
    -Do i need new coilovers?
-With only a 2" lift will i need new UCAs?

Any advice will be much appreciated.
    Thanks!
    - Chris

5100s/OME 888s. Dakar leaf pack. Total Chaos UCAs. DeMello Sliders. BAMF Recessed Grille. Prinsu Cabrack and Toprack.
You can use your stock coils and UCAs with the 5100s as long as you keep the lift to less than 2.5". Rather than a block kit for the rear, I would recommend a progressive add-a-leaf (AAL). You can go without the block or AAL but you might have a little reverse rake (bro-lean).

The 5100 is a solid option for this, you can also get coils to stiffen/loosen up your ride alittle bit. @HeadStrong Off-Road . No uca is needed but like mentioned above an add a leaf or new leaf pack from dakar is your best route.

Phone or pm Marie at headstrong and have a chat with her. She will get you setup the way you want for what you plan to do with the truck at a reasonable price point.
@smitty99 has bilsteins and seems to enjoy them. I dont know if he has coils tho.

Thanks Surfer & Broccoli.... so do you think the Icon Vehicle Dynamics Add-a (1.5") leaf would be better than a 1" rear block kit? I'm seeing some extreme variations in price & lift so far on the add-a-leaf options.

The way to look at it is the bilsteins are adjustable, the truck already has a slight rake. So by setting your bilsteins to 1.5/2" and a 1.5" add a leaf should level or keep stock rake. You can always adjust the bilsteins to level. Again im no expert .

So is installing rear Bilsteins beneficial if I use a 1.5" add-a-leaf?

If you use 5100's to preload your stock coils, your ride is going to suffer. FYI.

    1) I personally am no fan of blocks. They general do not give a better ride (many cases can make the rise worse) and offer no real suspension flex or benefit (other then the lift it self)
    2) Depends? Do you plan on going off road on a regular basis? If so, then ya. Look into the Bilstein 6112/5160 combo. I am most likely going that route when I get my lift components.
    3) Most likely not. However, new UCA offer greater travel (for if you are off roading regularly) for better traction and better alignment for lifted trucks.

What size tires are you going to run? I'm in the same situation, wanting a 2" lift but I want to keep my factory OR rims and run 265/75/16 KO2's. The tires will come before the lift so I'm also wondering if they will clear with the stock suspension until I do the aftermarket suspension.

Agreed I had 5100s and took them off from such a harsh ride.

Yes. I have 265/75/r16's on my stock OR wheels. They fit fine without a lift.

Looks great. What size tires/wheels are you running now?
    Thanks!

265/70/17. Wishing I would've went 275 now after seeing it. I have plenty of room left.

What coils work well with the 5100s? OME springs?

What specifics did you use for your 2.25: front and 1" rear lift? And what wheels and tires?

    that looks great!
