My new 2011 Toyota Tacoma includes a free 2 year maintenance.
Can someone please explain the details?
My dealer is giving me his "I don't know",, or "I will find out" answer
The dealer service manager told me I bring my truck in every 5000 miles or 6 months whatever comes first, salesman told me its only at every 5000 miles.
I had the service manager make me a first 6 month appointment for service.
What service does this inculde?, just a engine oil change and tire check?
or is this a good, "by the book" service?
They supply the oil and filters free of charge?
    I pay nothing?

    ( My Tacoma requires a 0-20W synthetic oil )

    Thank You
I am thankful for any information you could provide to me

i just got the same thing, my dealer said every 5k miles, i bring it in, they change the oil, fill all the fluids, re-seal my windows, 19-point inspection, detail the truck and then i come pick it up. the dealer i bought it from says they do all that every time any one brings their car in for an oil change.. however, the first 5 oil changes are free through toyota's toyota care program, and the dealer said they pick up every 6th oil change for free. so they told me for the first 30k miles i own my truck, it is completely free to me, as i have the 36000 mile bumper to bumper and 100000 mile powertrain warranty. BUT, my dealership gives me new tires every 25k miles whether i need them or not AS LONG AS i have THEM do all the oil changes every 5k miles. they say all the extra shit they do is the "grappone difference"

That free 6th oil change by the dealer at 30K miles might be expensive. There's a lot of service scheduled at 30K so check your owner's manual and try to do as much of it yourself as you feel comfortable with.

should be every 5,000 miles. I put 5,000 miles on my truck before 6 months and I had no problem with scheduling first oil change. almost time for my 10,000 mile oil change!

the service is all explained in a package from toyota

it comes with coupons for each service

    and states what is done

the service is performed at 5k miles same as the maintenance manual recommends

it was about 3 weeks before my package showed up

in addition to the package provided with the vehicle
my dealer includes a free first service

    :D

You don't really need the coupon book that they send you. They have it all in their computer system. You can also track your service records online through the toyota website. you have to create an account with password.

I bought a 2011 with the synthetic oil. The dealer said the 2011 Tacoma uses 0w-20 synthetic so the vehicles oil is scheduled to be changed every 10,000 miles, they rotate the tires at 5000 miles just like the 2011 Sienna van. I traded a 2010 in which the oil was changed every 5000 miles. I will not leave it in there that long so I will change it myself every other time if this is true. An oil change is a cheap investment! What is interesting, the toyota maintenance book for my 2011 recommends every 5000 miles but my dealer says the book just was not updated. Can anyone coment on which is accurate so I can prepare for battle if necessary? Perhaps a friendly call to Toyota may resolve this as well.

when i went in for my first service there was some confusion about this and they almost didnt change it, I got the manager and he said that for the 2.7 its every 5,000 for sure, its 10,000 for other 4cyl like the rav4 and sienna and those roach's "but the 2.7 isn't quite tuned as tight as some of the 10,000 mile motors" thats what the guy told me. Make sure you get it changed, im reluctant to even take it to 5,000, on my 03' i changed it at 3,000 everytime with Mobil1 full syn extended performance and lucas, ill be doin that after my service plan is up
