No questions here, just wanted to share. For those (at least with first gens) worried that a s/c will ruin your MPG...

I've only had my '04 4x4 s/c Taco now for a few weeks, took her on a long, desert highway road trip today. Stopped to fill up when the gas light came on, 320 miles on the trip odometer. Put in just over 16 gallons of premium, did the math (320/16) and got 20mpg for the tank.

This is the first time I've calculated the mileage on this truck, partly because I've been afraid to do it having driven a Scion tC for the last several years and always averaged around 26mpg on it. I figured I was going to take a huge hit with the Tacoma and the supercharger, but I have to say it hasn't been all that bad (aside from now having to use premium fuel). Especially when the original EPA estimates on this truck were 16/18.

Anyway just wanted to share my experience

I don't know if it made any difference or not, but I bought one of those little STP octane boosters from the auto store the other day when I was there because my prior fill-up was at a local, cheap-o gas station and I thought I was hearing engine pinging on that tank of gas. Definitely not filling up there again, but I can't imagine those boosters actually do anything for your MPG.

Nice! I used to get about 20-21 on my '02 that was also supercharged w/a URD 7th. I would use BG BK44 once in a while in the tank to help clean out the fuel injectors.

I get 19 on 2.2" and 7th injector with 32" KM 2's. It's pretty easy to stay out of boost which is why it's so much better than displacement. It's also indicative to me there's a lot more power to be made. I'm at 5000 feet so I figured even with the 2.2" the base tune on the 7th would be just right but it still needs a lot of tuning.
