Can you post a complete parts list you needed to pick off the donor vehicles?

I have a 2004 Double Cab Automatic PreRunner V6 and I found a 2004 Double Cab Automatic 4x4 donor. What parts would I need to take off it?

    Thanks

Rear driveshaft, front diff carrier, front spindles, cv axles, hubs (if non add) the complete shift assembly(the shifter interior parts) transmission and transfer case. You will have to lengthen the harness for the VSS to plug in but it's pretty streight forward.

Hello, I'm having trouble locating a speed sensor for my 4wd conversion? Where did you get yours or do you have a part number for it by any chance?

From a Toyota Tacoma! The Toyota 4 runners do not have a speed sensor on the output shaft of the transfer case. You will have to lengthen the wires about two or three feet to get it to reach. Your speedo will work and it will track mileage again.

A super chill friend of mine has some sick tools when it comes to building shit on your own and at your house. We didn't have gas to properly mig weld but he did have a bender that ran off air powered hydraulic ram and a tube notcher. So stoked that it's my own two hands and the help of friends making my truck come to life! The 4wd is working great guys!

Painted black and grill back on I have my 7" led pods now installed off the frame behind the bumper... loving the progress. Stinger coming next as well as sliders and possible brace over the cab or motor.

I've got a 2001 regular cab prerunner I'm planning on doing a 4wd swap to, but I plan on keeping an automatic transmission for simplicity sake when it comes to around town driving, which 90% of my time driving is. Can anyone help me out with a quick parts list of everything I'd need for a swap? I've got a good idea but it would be good to double check with some of you guys who have already done it, Thanks!

I'm currently converting my 1st gen prerunner using a donor 96 runner. Is there a place to put the speed sensor? I've read it has been an issue just looking for more information on this subject

Is this on the front or back of the transfer case. I'm doing a similar conversion at the moment. Havnt started in this section. I'm also using parts from a 96 runner. Would I need the speed sensor from a 4wd Tacoma to replace the one in the runner?

Had a little bit of fun out by my house in Avondale, Arizona. I need to try and get footage of hauling through the dirt switchbacks, it's super loose and I get sideways connecting the turns. Here's a few pics! Crawling up some concrete barriers a tad larger than my tire size... Locker does work! Possible quick release sway bar disconnects soon haha

I'm right there off McClintock and university now come stop by and say what's up. I work for the owner and he finds it hilarious how awesome the Toyota community is. I'm always flagging Toyotas down and talking wheeling during the week haha.

Well this thread and another guy converting his with limited knowledge has convinced me. This is my next upgrade after my ARB bumper. I kept hearing "sell the truck and by a 4x4" but how do people think I'll find another single owner double cab with no rust and complete maintenance records.

Definitely way more expensive to sell yours and buy a 4x4. $3k-$4k more in the truck alone. Not to mention the increased insurance and taxes. You won't have to pay 4x4 insurance and taxes on a converted truck

I can understand why the common refrain is to sell your truck and buy a 4x4. Normally, I'd agree - but the conversion is nothing no one else has never done before. You are using factory parts specifically designed for the truck you are converting, not some hodge-podge collection of random parts...

    Go for it!

Dude it's a good experience in the least. Any issues you have out wheeling or whatever you do with it won't leave you wondering what to do. It's not too difficult, most strenuous part is the transmission. My truck is still going strong! On 35s now and all chopped up haha

And not to mention she goes anywhere now a days! Locked on 35s for the win. Love sucia el blanco
