I dropped off my '01 PreRunner this morning. Sunday we were driving home and felt a vibration I hadn't felt before. So I crawled under the truck to look for the cause and found a hole in the frame right where the spring shackle is welded to the frame. The hole is about 4"x7".
I went to Spirit Toyota in Florissant, MO and so far so good. They hadn't heard of the bulletin on the '01-'04 yet, but they are taking photos and ordering the frame kit for me. They said a week to get the frame and a week to do the swap. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it continues this smoothly. He said they haven't done the frame swap out on these before so we'll see.
I'll try and get some pics up if I can.

I got the truck back last night. They are ordering the new frame they said 1 week to get the part and 1 week to install. No, problems so far.

Now they say the frame won't be in until the "first part of October" that is a helluva a lot different than 1 week.

So my frame replacement is done. I'm impressed with the speed and quality of Spirit Toyota. They did a great job. The only hiccup was an O2 sensor that caused a CEL. They asked if it was on before which it wasn't. So they ordered a new one and replaced it free. I got my 5100's and had them installed while it was there. They charged $100.00 to compress the springs and change them over. Which is a bargain as I didn't have to pay for an alignment.

No more axle wrap from weak worn out leaf springs. Drives like new.
