Looking for some info. A good friend of mine has left his 03 Taco with me to get the frame replaced. He has moved, but has an appointment to have it replaced. He was told it it would take 4-6 months for the parts to come in and is 4 months in so far. He doesn't want to start the process all over because of the move. He moved from MD to MN. My question has anyone had them cover the cost to replace the rear-end? This all started after he had the oil changed at the dealer and the rear-end started to leak from a rust hole. He has gotten the oil changed at the dealer from day 1 and never a word about the rust. And now they want $4500 to replace the rear with the frame job.

I have not heard of the dealer replacing the rear end in a frame swap. I think his best bet would be to source a used rear end and deliver to dealer. I'm sure they would not charge the labor of swapping the "new" used rear into the new frame.
I'm sure someone with moire knowledge will chime in soon. Good Luck.
