2003 Tacoma 4x4 v6 towing capacity

I am wondering if I should tow a 3.5 ton trailer with my 2003 Tacoma that has some frame rust perforations? Any thoughts?

Says it right on your bumper behind the hitch ball mount. 5,500 pounds for the v6 and 3,500 pounds on the I4

 

Depends on what you mean by Tow .

A several month tour of the USA or down the street a mile or two

Then the tongue weight might put the bed on the tires .

Always think can I afford to fix what breaks !! It is never worth anyone getting hurt

 

I was renting a Kubota backhoe and the trailer and rig weighed 2 tons. I rented a truck instead of taking a chance on my 2003 Tacoma TRD! Thanks for your reply. Distance was 5 miles each way on route 1, but it is hilly.
