2003 Tacoma DCSB TRD 4x4, Supercharged, 5-spd swap, 4.30s, manual hubs, 155k miles

Looking to move on from this Tacoma. I previously owned it from 2016-2017, sold it to a guy in Cal, missed it, bought it back, and it's just not working for what I need now. Its also not a perfect truck and was pretty well used by the previous owner and needs attention in a few spots (see below). (I also recently had hand/elbow surgery and the manual is a bit of a b*tch to drive for me now. :( ) Its got a good bit of mods and accessories and will make a great truck for the right person.

    The Truck:
    • 2003 Toyota Tacoma TRD DoubleCab
    • Radiant red exterior
    • Gray fabric interior
    • 155k miles
    • TRD e-locker rear
    • Supercharged w/TRD 7th injector kit
    • 5-speed manual swap
    • 4.30 diff gears
    • manual front hubs
    • Clean title in hand

    Modifications etc:
    • Supercharger added ~60k miles ago at 95,450 miles. was a used SC with ~8k miles on it. Colder plugs and TRD 7th kit installed. SC sounds great, never pings (~2500ft elevation where I'm at) I've just changed the oil in the nose. Also have a 2.2 pulley to go with it and a handful of other parts (thermostats, additional bracketry and bolts etc)
    • R150F 5-speed swapped ~50k miles ago. Commissioned by previous owner and done by SDTrucks.com. I helped gather many OEM parts for this swap for the PO. It is a well-done swap and is factory for all intents and purposes (uses correct 2003 manual trans ECM). Trans was used from a wrecker, had ~100k on it. Marlin 1,200 lb clutch kit.
    • Tacoma manual hubs swapped in ~55k ago. Used all OEM hubs, bearings, seals, CV joints etc. (ADD side-tube still intact and functional)
    • OEM 4.30 gears swapped in from a 3G 4Runner. (still e-lock rear)
    • E-locker "gray wire mod"
    • Brand new 255/85-16 BFG KM2 Mud. Set of 5 plus an additional worn spare. All on Tundra spare 16" steelies
    • Brand new Old Man Emu shocks ront and rear with SPC front upper arms and OME front coils and dakar rear leaf pack
    • ARB front bullbar
    • All-Pro apex kick-out step sliders
    • custom front fender bush bars tied to sliders and bullbar (slider end is welded and the other end is attached to a bar mount at the bullbar and can be detached at that point)
    • Safari Snorkel
    • CBI Offroad Outback bumper with full swing-out with tire mount, hi-lift mount, single can carrier, and drop-down camp table. P.O. had it modified with a different type of clamp to hold closed, it seems to hold well, but it is not tight and the whole thing rattles around still. Putting the original CBI screw-clamp thing on with it makes it clamp nice and tight and *quiet* (see pics)
    • Rear tailgate inner sheet panel/stiffener (not sure what brand or whatever). Tailgate is very sturdy to stand on
    • Full inner frame boxing from the gas tank all the way back.
    • SPOD installed by P.O. --ready to use for whatever you wish.
    • Pioneer AVH-2300NEX installed by P.O.
    • "Seat jackers" installed on the rear of both front seats for better seating positioning (personal preference--can easily be removed.)
    • LED headlights installed by P.O.
    • BAMF rear brake bracket
    Maint Items done:
    • Toyota service campaign - frame rust resistant spray - done 2010. Frame is still super solid with very little rust, and even more solid with the additional frame boxing in the rear.
    • Steering rack bushings 8/21/16
    • sway bar bushings 8/21/16
    • sway bar end links 3/24/17
    • OEM LBJs 2/16/17 (~55k miles ago)
    • OEM LCA bushings done 2/16/17 (~55k miles ago)
    • new OEM air filter 12/20/20
    • new rear brake shoes 1/25/20
    • new OEM throttle body 1/5/21
    • New CV boots 3/21/21
    • New SPC UBJs 3/21/21
    Additional info:
    • *Brand New* OEM ETCS-i complete throttle body. Truck runs like a champ now (the old one suffered the infamous 03-04 APPS sensor death - read about here: and if you want)
    • Currently titled and registered in Utah since December. Truck was previously titled, smog'd, and reg'd in Cali for the past 3 years without issue.
    Other and Issues
    • The rear main seal appears to be leaking, and the rear output on the tcase also looks to be leaking
    • Seats have some mud lookin stains on them. Could use a good cleaning as well. Or throw on some covers and you're good to go. Seat cushions are tight and good still. No tears in fabric.
    • P.O. tired several different configurations of roof tent bed bars and up to full rear camper builds, leading to ~30 or so different mounting holes drilled into the bed and top of bed rail. Nothing some liquid steel and bedliner couldn't fix right up.
    • Paint on sliders has been worn/rubbed off from getting in and out of the truck -- could def use some touch up (or full respray to make nice and new and shiny again)
    • The fenders are not properly clearanced for this large of tires. I'd go smaller or move on to true 35s and full firewall tub/clearancing. Pinch weld has been hammered and outer fenders trimmed at the bottom rear behind the fender flare (not noticeable unless looking up close inside the fender)
    • Power steering pump or a hose is leaking.
    • Door-stays are all jacked. None of the doors stay open
    • All seat belts have nicks or frays or both. They all work fine, and none seem terribly bad, but just a point worth noting
Bottom line is this is a BAD ASS Tacoma that just needs a bit of love that I really don't want to spend my time and effort on right now. I have work and family and was hoping to get a turn-key truck back and head out on some adventures. Perfect for somebody who wants a truck with all the goodies and willing to put in a little bit of elbow grease.

Been driving this truck around town every few days. This thing really is a blast to drive. I've tweaked a few things on it but still need to get to the more pressing items. One last bump here before I start putting effort into it.

And with Spring around the corner, never know, I may just decide to keep it so I can get some good wheelin and campin in over the next few months.
