    Hello!
I'm looking for a lighting guide for my 2003 Tacoma 4x4, that would include the bulb size's, quantity, placement and so on... I have a few interior lights out (dash, dome, shifter) and i've decided to roll through the entire rig and replace all. Thank you in advance for any assistance you could provide!

Thanks guys... I'm pretty sure the 2003 & 2004's are probably the closest. I've just really started with the easy ones... The Dome, map & such... I'm still unsure of how many bulbs it takes to illuminate the dash/instrument cluster?!? I've read so far that there's (2) 194's on a 2000 & (4) on a 2004, I better just pick up 4 just in case... Thanks again, this makes it much easier to pick up the bulbs at Autozone without having to wait at the parts counter forever!

Just FYI... The Instrument cluster is (4) WEDGE STYLE 194 bulbs... easy enough & I replaced them with PIAA super whites. The Heater/AC controls are a Toyota OEM bulb only and @ $5.00 a bulb i'm thinking I'll just replace the one that out! As I've already completed the Maps & Dome... But, for some reason I'm unable to find the step/courtesy bulb to replace?!? Is there anyone that knows where the placement of that bulb is?? Thank you in advance!

I seen that too about the step / courtesy light. I assume it is for lighted stepbar or running board. For it to be in the list, makes it appear that it was a factory option. But I don't know. I am not sure I have seen this on a Tacoma. But as soon as I say that, Someone will post a pic to proof me wrng. :D

IIRC the courtesy/dome lights are the festoon type bulbs, 31mm I think.

The dome light is right above the rear view mirror, at least that's where it was on my '99, not so sure on your '03.

All the lighting guides I've read show a map light which I've already replaced both of those, they're right above the rear view. Then it shows the dome which I've already replaced and its obvious between the fron & rear seats... But, then it shows a step/courtesy as a seperate bulb & I can't find the damn thing in the cab anywhere!!:frusty: Maybe it's an option that my taco never came with!!:annoyed:

FYI....lamps are measured by the diameter of the glass envelope ("bulb") portion, then by the watts (or amps), length is assumed/understood in the industry and not used as a qualifier. There are often slight variations in length based on manufacturer design and tolerances that usually have little or no effect on function or fit. The length part that is more critical is LCL, lamp center length, not important on festoon lamps, but many applications where centering in a reflector or optical path is important.

Don't feel bad, your length qualifier is common and better than no info at all. :)

what size bulbs do you use for the guage cluster not the check engine or any of those but the background color of your speed and such?

cargo light - usually it is intergated into the High stop mount/3rd brake light. bulb should be the same as the others in the mount. Toyota didn't make a cargo light for the tacomas from 95 and on.... a feature no truck should ever be made without.

Are those white or blue LEDs? I'm about to replace the heater core and so my dash is going to be torn apart so I was thinking of upgrading my gauge and AC control lights to LEDs and a color other than red. I'd like more of a cool blue to teal-ish color
