Made it a roller today. Everything clears, I’ll have to notch in the air bumps next but I had to put some weight on it today.

5” up travel, 128” wb and 18.5” frame height on stock tires. Sits about 3” taller than it did with the clapped out suspension that was in it to begin with.

Been a while since I’ve updated. Trying to get this done while still not burning myself out and rushing. Finished welding the whole front of the frame/hoops/bump cans. Notched for the coilovers when the axle swings. All links are made, link mounts are on. Finished assembling the axle. Painted the welds on the bed bob

This weekend consisted of mounting my arb compressor where the abs module used to be, deleting brake lines, building a shock hoop brace and a battery box is in progress in the factory location. Also been trying to think up some ideas for my transfer case mounts and skid plate. Im using the 4x innovations mounts, but need a crossmember to mount to.

I also test fitted my winter tires. The front end needs to come down yet but accutune suggested waiting until it’s fully ready before swapping springs, so bumpers and winch mount is next weekends project most likely. I’ve decided to build my own driveshafts as well.

Made a crossmember for the transfer case mounts. One crossmember and will connect the two mounts with plate. Got started on a front bumper and winch mount. Battery box and fuse box made and mounted. I’m on a bit of a time crunch so I sent my driveshaft parts away to have them built at a shop so I have one less thing to worry about. On the positive it seems like my springs have settled enough with the added weight to the front where I won’t have to swap them out

I need to order some front brake lines for the Tacoma calipers. Need a short one to go from the axle tube to the caliper. Hopefully I can find one that’s easily purchased from a parts store versus custom stainless or something.

I also need to modify my air box again as it’s hitting the shock hoop brace.

Lots of little stuff done, got the rear bump stops and shocks mounted, was able to get 4” up travel in the rear. All the brake lines finished front to back, abs deleted. Need to build my anti wrap bar and have my hydro assist lines made, trim fenders, and take it to work to build some exhaust. Should be taking it out for a shake down run this weekend, as long as my driveshafts show up and I get my front limit straps.

So, things didn’t go as planned. Drove all night last night to get my driveshafts, bolted them in, added fluids and started seeing a leak. Did some reading on the linked crawl box thread and found Marlin recently has sent out adapters for the 4.0 instead of the 3.4. Pulled the cases back out and will deal with that on Monday. Exhaust is finished anyways. Makes a little more sense why none of my hardware worked for this adapter.

But I’m very happy how it’s looking.

Had to get a little bendy on the exhaust to center it more to be able to clear the anti wrap mount on the frame. 01E5633D-A148-4DA8-A148-6BC53F05697D.jpg

Frustrating isnt it with the 3.4/4.0 plate? I don't get why they can't get their stuff together yet.

Extremely frustrating. It’s not like it’s a simple job to change that once it’s all assembled. They could atleast stamp them or something with a part number. Also if they could include instructions everyone would be way happier.

Seems like common sense. They are loosing so much money randomly sending out adapter plates, you would think they would care from that standpoint.
Let alone, the time to bolt everything together, and unbolt everything, clean, ans reassemble. They aren't making it easy to support them with future purchases.

Oh I didn’t realize that was you in the other thread! Sucks man, I’ve heard great things so I tried to go all Marlin but dang I dunno if I’d do it again.

Yep. That was me. Thankfully Marlin was good to work with on getting a new one out very fast.
I don't get why they don't just sell the MC31?? Or maybe anodized 3.4 plate vs 4.0 if they stick with inchworm?
Heck, just look at the plate before shipping it.

Did you build your whole exhaust yourself? What did you do for cats?

Yes I built it. The truck was missing the cat when I bought it so I reused a VW cat a customer at work gave us when I swapped the complete exhaust on their car. Hopefully it gets rid of my p0420 code

Proper adapter should be here Thursday. The guy at Marlin crawler was great, had a tracking number within an hour! Now hopefully I can get it in and finished for snow wheeling Saturday.

Well I missed wheeling, but I did drive it around the block. Some issues to work out but overall I’m happy! Cases and shafts back in, 2rz radiator installed, hydro assist lines in.

One of the problems is my power steering pump is no good (figured it would be). Likely going to pick up a radial dynamics pump to replace it. Still need to do lots of trimming on the fenders, and probably move the battery to the box and delete the air box because the tires get into the inner fenders, so they gotta go. These pictures I’m not even close to the bump stop, so I’ll have to add a bit more bump I think
