That's a gnarly pic with the mountain in the background!

It’s definitely not the worst view while at work.

Shake down was a success! Made it to the peak of the mountain. Pretty happy with how it works, though I’m not sure about the automatic transmission yet. I’m going to add a manual torque converter lockup switch/ radesigns shifter and see how I like it before considering a manual swap. Needs some more front fender trimming and I pulled an arb air line out of the fitting, but no major issues!

Looks awesome. I need to get mine back together asap and find some snow.

Another weekend in, arb locker is leaking from last weekend. Contacted ecgs to see what they will do for me, hopefully just send me out some seals or something. Truck is working pretty good, still rubbing fenders in a few spots. Broke trail mostly all day with a good crew behind me.

Looks like you guys like the mud grapplers. They must work pretty well I'm guessing.

They do seem to work well for our snow. I would love to try a 39” irok on this truck and see how it compares. I had 40s on my jeep and they could never keep up to these mud grapplers.

I'm guessing that your snow is fairly similar to what we have down here. You guys might get more powder than us.

I think pretty similar. Weird climate, not quite PNW snow but not the dusty sugar snow you see in Montana/Alberta

Well I pulled the front third out and found this. Looks like whatever was used to press the bearing on caught the carrier. Trying to have a new one sent out but not sure how it’s going to work. Would really prefer not to send it back for a couple weeks more of down time as the snow is going away fast!IMG_1586.jpg

Great thread! Sold my built Rzr on 35s wanting to get back into another Solid axle yota. I just picked up a 03' prerunner 2.7/auto, ofcourse looking for 4wd trans/tcase, already bought elocker rear axle but know of a diamond built toy axle I could use for SAS. Just wanting to keep street friendly so want to link front/leaf rear like you have. I saw you were questioning the auto trans, before I buy another trans for my swap you think its good idea to go 5spd for SAS on one of these or auto alright?

I much prefer the auto trans. I am going to try to keep it in it, it just doesn’t work exactly how I want it to for the very slow crawling we do in the snow. Aside from that, I would take the automatic over a manual any day of the week.

I drive an automatic in my setup and it's SLOW AS HELL:rofl:

Sometime, it feels more like an anchor when I'm out playing around on the rock :ballchain:

    But I'm not complaining :annoyed:

Some snow conditions you have to put it in double low 1st gear and let the truck find its own traction. Tricky with the automatic. But I love not having to use a clutch anymore.

I had a jeep cherokee on 40s, with the aw4 which is the same as the a340. It handled it great, just use a good cooler.
