Hey guys/gals this is my first post here on the Tacoma World Forums  .

Right now I'm driving a 2004 Jeep TJ with a 4" lift and 33's, but looking to possibly sell privately and pick up a 2004 Tacoma with the TRD package. Really interested in the Tacoma because I'm hoping it will serve my needs better as an all-around solid rig for both daily driving and off-highway travel. Plus, I like the fact that it would potentially be more comfortable for 3-4hr highway trips and there'd be plenty of room for storage in the truck bed for when I'm camping for days at a time.

Speaking of storage, is there a deck rail system available for he 1st gen Tacoma's like the ones that come with the 2nd gen's? I think that'd be ideal for storing Rotopax cans, Hi-Lift, etc. Interested to know how you guys secure all of your gear in the truck bed.

You can find the specs I'm going for listed below. Of course, the Expeditions West rig was a big inspiration :) :

    Automatic
    4WD
    V6

    Old Man Emu Suspension
    255/85R16 BFG Mud Terrain Tires
    16x8 American Racing 767 Wheels
    5.29 Gears

    ARB Safari Snorkel
    ARB Bull Bar
    Demello Rock Sliders

Haven't decided on a rear bumper option yet but the offering from All-Pro looks nice. Also, I'm wondering what you guys are doing with your spare tire? I'm thinking maybe a flat spare tire mount in the bed would work.

Looking forward to getting any input you guys are willing to throw out there. Thanks :) .
