    Hi,
First time poster but I had a 2004 Tacoma 4 door with the TRD supercharger that I had to sell a couple of years ago. Anyways looking to get another truck and came across a 2004 prerunner 2wd with 68,000 miles. Truck looks super clean from the pics. He is asking $16,000 for it. What do you guy's think I should offer him. Any help would be great.

    Thanks,
    Erick

Depends on your location as well. I'm also looking around for a 1st gen double cab. In Southern California, 16k with that mileage is not that extreme but the 14-16 range sounds more resonable in my opinion.

I'm in the bay area and the truck is up north a bite. I was thinking of offering 12,500 and then going up from there. I know it's a low ball offer but hey does not hurt to ask. I found one up north as well pretty much the same truck but 4wd and the dealer wanted 20,588 for it. I told him your about 5-6 grand high. He was like I'll sell it for that price in a month no problem. LOL

Yea he is the first owner and had all the records so he says about the records. I have a buddy who owns a 4 wheel drive shop not to far from where the guy is selling the truck at. I'll see if he wants to either take it over to him or my buddy goes to him to see what's up. Thanks for all the help.

In Colorado I've seen 2004 xtracab 4x4 TRDs with shells and upgraded audio for $17-18k with similar miles. But 4x4. So here, $13k-14k would be much more realistic for a Prerunner unless it's super nice and has primo upgrades.

Well I offered the guy $13,000 in cash and he said his price is firm which is fine so that is that. I really don't need a truck but the one I'm driving is getting close to 250K. It's getting harder to start each and everyday. So I've been driving a 74 FJ40 that goes to the Rubicon once a year but @ 8 miles per gallon it hurts LOL. Thanks for all your help.

i just bought a 2003 double cab 4x4 with 70k on it for 17k... 16k is way to much to pay for a 2wd truck... i'd say 13ish maybe...

Yea I offered $13,000 and he is holding at $16,000 firm. I think in his ad he should put 16,000 firm sure would save the back and forth. I'm just going to drive what I have for now and keep looking.

Yeah, a lot of it really depends on the location. Take a look at some other trucks that are similar in your area so that you can compare the price, then go from there.
