    Hey Everyone,

Cascadia 4x4 has recently released the worlds first vehicle specific solar systems! Our VSS System™ is a complete plug-and-play solar kit designed specifically for your vehicle including a waterproof MPPT charge controller and custom clear vehicle hood vinyl.

Our first Toyota model designed for the 2nd Gen Tacoma's is now available for pre-order until December 15th. Pre-order today and save 10%! We expect to be shipping these no later than March 1, 2020* (*this is a very conservative ship date). *The first pre-order has sold out! Now taking pre-orders for April delivery*

Please follow the link to our website below for all the details:

    https://www.cascadia4x4.com/product...2005-2015-vss-system-90-watt-hood-solar-panel

Other models including the 2016+ Tacoma, 3-5th Gen 4Runners, Tundra's, Land Cruisers etc will be available for pre-order in the near future. Let me know if you have any questions!

"The Cascadia 4x4 VSS System™ hard-mounts to the hood of your vehicle and, during daylight hours, provides a constant flow of clean solar energy to your primary or secondary vehicle batteries. This gives you the ability to run 12V accessories like fridges, phone/laptop chargers, lights, power inverters etc. without the need to start your engine and without fear of draining your battery and leaving you stranded. The VSS System™ is completely plug-and-play and can be installed in as little as 1.5 hours. We chose the most stable and durable multilayered semi-flexible solar panel construction available to ensure that these solar panels can withstand extreme environmental conditions, maintenance-free, for years.

Take part in our pre-order and be the first in line to receive the Cascadia 4x4 VSS System™ for your 2nd Gen Toyota Tacoma (2005-2015). The future of vehicle charging is here.

Can you order the panel separately and do you have it modified for skewps?

also whoa that’s a lot of money for a solar panel.... plans to mass produce or get production off shore to reduce the cost?

Currently we are only selling the VSS System as a complete kit with charge controller etc.

While it may be seem pricey, keep in mind that is is not just a solar panel. It is a completely custom plug-and-play solar system with every small detail included:
    - Custom designed solar panels built to withstand the rigors of offroading/overlanding
    - Waterproof MPPT Charge Controller
    - Custom cut clear hood vinyl with vinyl installation tool
    - 3M VHB adhesive and weather stripping
    - MC4 Connectors and all wiring necessary right down to the zip ties and zip tie blocks to complete a clean installation

Each of these kits is put together in our Canadian warehouse and backed by a 2 year warranty. :canada:

Any chance you making plans for first gen tacomas ? If not do you have specs (measurement) on the panel so I can see how it would look on my vehicle. I really like the concept.

I am pretty sure that this 2nd gen model will work on the 1st gen Taco's and early 4Runners. Unfortunately it is not as simple as just making the dimensions work. The curvature of the hood also plays a huge part in weather the part would work or not. We need to do some test fitments to ensure fitment.

If you might be interested in pre-ordering a VSS system on your 1st gen and helping us do a test fitment let me know and we might be able to work something out.

We have designed these to be hood mounted and cannot recommend at this point that mounting on the roof is a good idea. The ridges on the roof would make secure mounting very difficult.

The panels are very impact resistant. This technology has actually been adapted from the marine industry where it is used at decking on sale boats. We've made sure that these can stand up to the rigors we put our vehicles through

Does the heat from the engine effect the longevity of the solar cells? It would seem that a roof mount might be worth a look. How does it adhere to the hood?

We have been testing these for several years now will no issues due to heat. The solar cell efficiency will decrease with heat from the engine, but if the engine is hot then that means the alternator is doing most of the charging anyways. We offer a 2 year warranty on the VSS Systems.

A roof mount will be something we look into in the future for sure, but many overlander/offroad vehicle's already have items covering the roof.

The panels adhere with a 0.75" strip of 3M double sided tape all around the edge. :)

Holy cow that price point. Neat application, but I spent a fraction of that amount for my 100W roof rack mounted panel.

Sure there are cheaper panels out there. But this is a complete plug-and-play solar system including:

    - Custom designed solar panels built to withstand the rigors of offroading/overlanding
    - Waterproof MPPT Charge Controller
    - Custom cut clear hood vinyl with vinyl installation tool
    - 3M VHB adhesive and weather stripping
    - MC4 Connectors and all wiring necessary right down to the zip ties and zip tie blocks to complete a clean installation
