I worked out a deal with a TW member that is local and has a pre-2012. Give me about 2 weeks and I'll have photos up with a receiver on it as well.

Some shit I got on craigslist
Bump for another Baltimore guy. Wish my truck wasn't getting a fucking frame replacement or I would have offered it up for as a guinea pig. I'll check this out when it's finished and probably be in for an order with a receiver hitch before summer.

If you need another loaner 05-11 rig come April please LMK; I should have my truck back by then. Good luck with the company, I'm sure we'll be in touch once I get my truck back.

You guys ever consider putting light tabs on it also? Could probably put two lights , one on each side of receiver. May be something to consider for the near future.

It was considered but I worried they'd be too vulnerable.

Well, I'm a Mechanical Engineer by trade but two years ago my job asked me to move into Manufacturing Engineering because the sheet metal shop was struggling to stay on time. So I came in and have been over hauling each area one by one. Then two months ago they had me take over the shop and become a Production Manager. We have about 60,000 sq ft sheet metal fabrication shop with around 40 employees. Two press brakes, another CNC press brake in the works, one plasma table, another new high def table on it's way, shear, various plate rollers, various saws, 6 tig welding bays, 20 mig weld bays, 15 over head cranes. I've learned how to run all the different equipment and fabricate all my own parts. The only thing I pay a vendor to do is powder coat. We only have 2 16'x24' wet spray booths. Looking to get a tubing roller and a powder coat line very soon though. Company just bought a second 32,000 sq ft building that we're moving all high volume production to so once that happens we're expanding fabrication. I have to go to Germany shortly to look into robotic welding technology which should be cool.

Real men just call it camping
Sub'ed. I had considered plate bumpers and the hidden winch mount, but I don't think I'd need a winch often enough to justify it. A receiver in the front may be the best option for someone with my needs.

Hopefully you'll still be making these a year from now, on my reciprocal trip to relatives in MA.

    I'd install it there!

    Nice work!

What if they were to be recessed into the grill portion of the truck? Just wondering, hope you don't mind.

Also just trying to keep this good idea at the top of the forum list so everyone sees the good work you do!

That's not a bad idea at all. Something small, like ditch lights. I have six of these tacked together now. Didn't fully weld anything until I verify they're good to go on the pre-2012. I am going to keep one and try different options on it.

Really like how this looks. If you get picture of the bar installed on a 05-10 model, please post them here..

This is clearly a rookie question, but are there any concerns about the "lever arm" effect caused by the recovery points sitting above where the bar is bolted to the frame?

Any idea if your recovery bar would work with an Avid bumper guard installed?

I am going to install one on a pre-2012 this weekend and then throw pics up. It'll have the 2" receiver tube on it as well. The recovery points won't be a problem. The unit bolts to the face of the chassis with 6 bolts as well as ties in underneath the sub frame with 2 more bolts. The unit bolts to the chassis the same way plate bumpers do.
