I emailed ARB USA to inquire on the Safari Snorkel here is their response. Looks similar to the responses I received when I wanted to purchase a front bumper for my 2012 Tacoma.

    Response:

Yes, they are coming. We’ve seen the prototypes. The latest we’ve heard is sometime early Fall (4 Runner as well). Check back with us as we get closer.

So Fall is coming up pretty quickly. I bet we won't see them til next year... Then all the 2016+ Tacoma Owners will have about a 5 year wait which is one of the main reasons I'm not planning on buying a 3rd gen. I may just have to jump in on the ModR group buy!

i'm betting the 2nd gen will probably fit close to how the modr fits. The 3rd gen cab appears to be exactly the same, and the fender lines seem to be close, the corners are just a little more sharp.

@cruiseroutfit Can I buy just the Tacoma specific template for the SS135MOD from you..?
I have the unit, bought it in December but never had the balls to install it as it's not a full bolt on.
The unit was a gift, they did not buy it from you... Thanks..!!

No. The Kits are sold with the Template in the box. So for him to do that would mean he'd have to open a kit up and now have an incomplete kit to try to sell. He's graciously said many times he cannot and will not split it up. Unfortunately you'll have to either try to find one on the interwebs or free hand that bitch. Just remember, any mistakes you make will be behind the snorkel so no one will see it anyways! :D

You'll never know unless you ask, but I figured since I'm here before Cruiser's I'd chime in since I've already seen what their answer will be!

Has anyone asked ARB for a soft copy of the file? Seems like it would be something they could email over.

I'm working on snatching up every snorkel I can get. ARB let their stock on the SS135 variants drop (discontinued now in US) as they were expecting the SS135R variants. We have our name on every one that have in the US and en route. That said I'll only have ~5 of each type (SS135MODR & SS135MOD) available in the next week (we need to build them out to make them the Tacoma SS135MODR kits). I'd love to kick off the group buy with 30 of them in stock but I won't be able to accommodate that for 4-6 weeks . Working on solutions to that!

Sorry, our 2nd Gen specific template is only available in the kits we assemble. We build them in batches and make enough templates to match the snorkels we have in stock, usually 10-15 at a time.

Isn't the template just printed paper?

Our buddy Kurt here at Cruiser Outfitters said he could do $310 + shipping for the new ModR ARB Snorkel. Page 14 in this thread.
