2005 Tacoma 2.7L 4 cylinder Performance upgrades

Here’s a couple pictures of my 05 Tacoma. I have the heavy duty rancho shocks to help
compensate for the extra weight of the camper shell and roof top tent. I think the regear 4:10 and positraction will help
making it up the hill in baja on surf trips. Thanks for all your help @dillonk1602

what do u have on the truck ? so fair as engine upgrades?

 

@dillonk1602 I have a 5 speed manual. So far all I have is the Volant cold air intake system. I just bought the pedal commander and doug thorley headers but waiting on shipping so nothing is installed yet. I’m hoping that gives me some punch but I think the re gear will be a good call to help me make it up a steep dirt hill?

 

auburn positraction diff with 4.10 gear that way if u do go up in tire size you will be all good and still have some power and it will help with all the camping stuff too.

 

OEM gearing in are trucks are 3;58 gear, So that will be a good jump 4;10 still getting power but not killing your truck with high rpms.

 

4.10's are nice...that's what comes standard in the 4wd 5-spd. My first gear is so nice and short that I can climb in and out of anything without much issue (aka open diffs).

@dillonk1602 yes i am in san diego, chula vista to be exact, the south part. i have a small used car dealership with a shop but if you have a guy that you can recommend i wouldn’t mind checking him out. any suggestion to buy the re gear parts would be cool too. I installed the Pedal Commander today and I defintely feel a difference, the lag in first gear is a lot less. When I get the D. Thorley headers (being shipped) installed I should be able to feel a big difference. Keep shredding!

Hey man, I know this feed is alittle in the past but are all the parts for your turbo setup custom fabricated? I cant even find a manifold for my life if I wanted to. Have a 2015 4 banger myself and need more power for the build I am going for and also dont want to spend 4k on the URD kit which doesnt play nice with automatics anyways.

 

The manifold and downpipe I got from Shanghai Waystar on Alibaba. The turbo is a GT2871r. Everything else was individually sourced, and the only real fab work was the intercooler piping for the most part.
