    What should I do about this chipping on the RXT leafs I just received (from accutune @*TRD* )?

    Peel it and use undercoating? Return it? Leave it as is because it's not a problem?

    @DaMaDo Mine had similar issues as well, I just got the rattle can. Leaf springs ain't gonna stay pretty for long, not any brand that I know of.

    Just wondering if I can get away with these on setting 1? but from time to time would i be loading up with 6-800lbs (hwy travel) 90% of the time I’ll be empty. Just want the best ride possible. i have ordered some extended travel Fox2.0 rr cd for the rears 2-3” is that not enough travel?

    Can anyone tell me if the ride noticeably stiffens up between options 1 or 2 while riding empty? And how much stock bed capacity is lost on option 1? Icons site doesn’t say

    I think the ride is just fine with option 2 when unloaded. The only stuff I regularly have in the bed is hilift and maxtrax, maybe 100 lbs at most. Also running Fox rr extended rears ~9.1” travel I believe. I can’t imagine option 1 with 800 lbs in bed, seems like the ride would be terrible.

    Ok good to know.. I’ll contact icon and ask.. but yea option two sounds like a good compromise.. just spent a ton of dough to improve my ride quality and i don’t want to f$&k it up by having a stiff jolty rear like i do now on blocks

    Yeah me too. I ordered the Icon RXT leaf pack and rear Radflo 2.5 with resis to improve overall ride quality and capability. Been running on blocks and the stock bilsteins so I’m pretty sure I’ll notice a big improvement. I think I’ll opt for option 2 as well

    I spoke with Adrian at Icon technical support and according to him it’s all ride hight related. No payload compromises from stock between options 1 and 2. And ‘negligible’ differences between between ride quality. ‘It all depends on where you want your truck to sit’

    Fox 2.5 DSC RR with 650 lb springs (plus hidden winch) sitting at about 22.5” hub to fender in front, rear is at about 24 hub to fender, trying to keep close to factory rake. Very minimal preload in the front.

    I think it’s about 1.5” up front. I never measured my truck before lift, just did some research. From what I could tell, factory hub to fender is around 21” in front and 22” rear. I think I have slightly more rake than factory but plenty of room on coil overs to level it out if I want.

    I don't have a specific number but I had option 1 out the box and gotta say its less than stock from what I experienced. About once a month load about 200-300 lbs in truck. Also, I tow my SxS with a 12' single axle trailer about 2800 lbs gross. Option 1 sagged more than factory setup. I since then did option 2 and has worked out much better. I would say option 2 is slightly higher capacity than factory leafs. Option 2 is stiffer but fine with me daily driving. Just the way it is, increased payload its gonna be stiffer unloaded.

    Installed the RXT leaf pack yesterday. I didn’t measure it before but it looks like at least 2” of lift. I came from stock leafs with a 1” block spacer. The ride is a lot stiffer but feels smoother if that makes any sense lol. I used option 2 since I will be adding a bed rack and some other tools back there in the near future. I will be installing new radflo rear shocks as well but still waiting for them to be built.

    Are you still running factory shocks?? Thinking of option 2 myself. Care to elaborate on ‘stiffer but smoother’ seems contradictory..

    Yes still running factory shocks. It just feels more controlled. To be fair, I only ran it over speed bumps last night but before, the factory springs were really jumpy and felt very linear when compressing them over speed bumps. The RXT has a more controlled and progressive feel where when I hit the bumps, it would soak it up and compress in a slower way as it gets pushed harder. It just feels like it can take a whole lot more abuse
