    I actually found a picture of my #1 cylinder at TDC.
    all I did was align all my markings back. And aligned the new chain.

    I'm not mad or anything.
    This whole thing has been a learning process.
    Just for it to start up again today was a win.
    But back to the drawing board and time to clean up these little mistakes.

    It’s only $150. Not talking about cams, just retarded exhaust gears. @mightytacoman is selling them. Check his thread

    Sorry man! We’ve all been there though. Too bad there’s sooo much that goes into tearing the front off. Good news is that it usually goes twice as fast. I probably have a spare water pump gasket if you need it.

    I was just assuming you would have to pull it off to pull the front cover....Maybe you left it attached?

    @Justintheegreat , terrific thread!

    Good for you on tackling this job, thanks for the pics.

    There was a dude on here that had rebuilt his 4.0 and was talking it through with another. I’ll see if I can find it.

    A couple of questions for you- how much did they mill your heads? As far as I understand, Yota does not recommend milling them as it messes up the timing chain gear lengths...
    If material was removed, did you get thicker head gaskets to compensate?

    If you do mill the heads, look at Cometic for custom thickness head gaskets.

    I took practically everything off the first time. Just because I wasnt sure if it could stay on.
    But this time I'm gonna try to pull it off with the the least amount of items removed.

    I'm not sure exactly how much they cut down. I asked if it was bad and they said it was not bad at all..
    I didnt use thicker gaskets at all.
