    Building for Ultra4 4600
Hey guys, I've been searching for a while and have not found much info so I'll just ask.

I have a 2006 2.7L 4cyl 2TRFE that will be swapped for a 1GRFE 4.0 V6. The Tacoma is currently automatic and 2 wheel drive, it will be auto 4x4 when done.

The majority of threads that come up in searches have countless posts where people try to talk the OP out of it or try to convince them that they should just go V8, those aren't options for me. This truck is being built for Ultra4 racing in the 4600 class. If you're unfamiliar, you can read the rule book https://www.ultra4racing.com/sites/default/files/ULTRA4-rule-book.pdf The short version is that we are limited to a factory available engine and transmission in the make/model, we are using a single cab short bed because of the 109.4" wheel base which is actually a little longer than desired so moving to an access cab isn't going to be in the cards for us. The budget isn't a concern, our R&D budget will get us pretty far.

I'm well aware of how to modify the frame and suspension mounting points in the front end for the 4x4 setup, This build is being done by a suspension manufacturer so those parts are our specialty. I've done a lot of engine swaps in the past but not Toyotas.

    What I need to know:

Is the body wiring harness separate from the engine harness and will 4cyl/6cyl swap to each other?

Are the motor mount positions different on the frame?

Will the gauge cluster support the new engine?

Who makes tuning software to delete downstream O2 sensors?

Do I need the gas pedal from the V6 car?

There will obviously be more questions as this evolves.

    Thanks
    Adam C
