2006 radio not picking up much.

Everything checks out with our new/used toy but the radio is not picking up but about 4 stations from where we live. I've posted I put another stereo in the back for the beach trips and thats getting tons of stations and all that is , is a rubber short antenna. Regular car stereo just not hitting on a whole lot.

Anyone else ever had a issue with their radio not picking up much and found a cure?

 

Check to see if the antenna is actually plugged up.

 

You actually have radio stations worth listening to in your area? Lucky you!

 

Mine is loosing signal strength as well.

VW Buggy, Yep,, were by the Outerbanks, and those cluster of cities Va Beach, Norfolk Portsmouth , Chesapeake. I run xm in my big truck and will have it in the back but we have a 75 to 120 mile hike to get where we want to fish, and only so much talking mama and I can do. LOL

Thanks for the link Tnshooter. Figured I would get a cheap antenna put back out there they ain't cheap. LOL Little rubber ducky antenna on the camper top was 9 dollars off e bay. Amazaon wants right at 60. Will keep looking.

Auto receivers are usually more sensitive than others. Sounds like something is wrong with yours. I changed mine out for a major brand with the highest sensitivity advertised. Works great. In the interest of saving a few bucks I sacrificed the steering wheel controls and went with a single din setup. The added cubby hole for odds and ends was a bonus.
