alright. i had to make an account to post this because it seems i am the only person to have this issue. drove me truck two nights ago parked it went to start it the next morning absolutely dead. battery read 13.45v so no battery issue. all vuses test good as well as getting power other than the #1 ign fuse in the cab. if i take a jumper wire and go from ign 2 to ign 1 in the cab and turn the key the truck runs fine but if i take the wire off it dies. any ideas?

Manual transmission? If yes check the switch that closes when you press the clutch pedal. Mine was going out, bypassed it.

I think the auto has a switch also, probably up near the park position, not certain. Try holding the key in the start position, then move the shifter from reverse to park repeatedly. That might get it to start.

When mine was going out, it worked to get it to start until I could get to fixing it. Held the key in start, repeatedly stomped the clutch til it started.

Since you say you have to jump accross fuses to get it to run it does sound like an ignition problem, the facory immobilizer only keeps the engine from starting it does not inhibit the starter or ignition.
Do you have an aftermarket alarm/remote start installed?

That would be the first thing I'd check, I'll bet you will find your issue there.
Most alarm/remote start systems I see are poorly installed rat nests.

yes thats what i thought my issue was at first hand because it was half a!$ installed by the previous owner. i took the time to splice and put inline fuses as well as change two fuses in the control module and still have not gained any ground on my starting issue.

I'll pull the wiring diagrams when I get home, your gona have to get a test light and start checking where your power stops.

I've seen the wiring diagrams previously posted with instructions how to do further testing. I don't have them. My first guess is there's a neutral safety switch in the shifter that's gone bad.

thank you guys so much! i was able to take my voltometer and test every wire running from the ign side of things and found a wire that had been spliced and came undone that was causing all this trouble.
