my truck has sat all weekend in my driveway, last time it sat for a day, it smoked at start up for a second... while it was parked facing uphill. this time its backed in facing downhill, curious to see if it still smokes when i fire it up tomorrow.

So I have an '08 and it must be blowing black smoke due to the fact that I have carbon stains on my fender flare that I can't get off. My truck is white so it really stands out. My question is: do you think warranty will cover getting rid of the stain since the exhaust is what caused it?

Here is an update, I was in Hawaii for 10 days and my truck sat in my garage. When I got back, I fired it up and no smoke. I do not know why I got it the one time, but for now, I'm not worried about it. Maybe the next time I know it will sit for a few days I'll put it on the driveway, that is sloped a bit, and see if it has anything to do with the incline?

Ok. After doing some reasearch on this problem, I think I have an idea of whats happening with the "blowing smoke on start up". Now, the ECU programming wont give spark to the engine until a certain oil psi is reached. Its possible that the fuel injectors are dumping a little too much fuel in the combustion chamber berfore the ECU sends the spark. This combined with the ECU being in "open loop" ( as the engine is cold) could cause a puff of black smoke out the exhaust.
