My bad, there is no double cab OR, there is an SR5 though, which is what you said one of the options was.

Yes, I agree that it was my bad about the double cab OR. And I never said anything about the box. You said you were looking at an SR5 and that does come in double cab.

Most of that makes sense but why wouldn't they do the sr5 double cab short box in automatic seems like it would be a pretty ideal option for most drivers.

It would be novel to have the 07 U.S. doublecab OR in Canada but that sucker is wayyy overpriced. If you're not set on a warranty than I would expand your search for used Tacomas. Try adjacent provinces I found really good deals in rural locations when I was searching for my truck. For the record I paid 17k for an 06 Off road 4x4 V6 with 140k on it (no accidents). Kajiji is a great tool, try searching the Alberta site, there were a ton of reasonably priced Tacoma's last time I looked including some american imports with the features you seem to be looking for. Anyhow my $.02 best of luck with your decision.

Idk if the new truck is 4x4 or has a locker. If not go with the 07 4x4 with locker means you can go practically anywhere. And the auto tranny is smooth on these trucks. If you can get the price down go with the 07. And IMO the new front end style looks like $H1T!! 07 OR FTW

Do this 3rd option. This way u can have your auto double cab in a truck with less miles and no accidents. Now that you are considering a vehicle in the states you are not tied to this 2007.

I will not be using the truck for work, but to drive to/from work.

My GLI is so low it wont make it on the gravel jobsites I work on.

Also, a DCLB will not fit in my underground parking easily.

Look for a new "leftover" 2012. They are everywhere and the dealers needs to move them in order to make space for the 2013s.

You can get a much better deal on a brand new 2012 than you can a 2013. I just did it when I bought my 2012 Baja last week.

I wouldn't be scared of the manual trans. There are issues with automatics also.CARFAX reports are useless.

3rd option - keep looking for another Tacoma. Out of those two I would get the 2013 if you want to spend that much. 2007 is overpriced imo, and was involved in an accident.

    You.... WANT a short box????

    For real?

Import is more trouble than its worth, and with the truck being 7 model years old already, I sure wouldn't be paying that kind of coin for it. It is amazing what a little bit of detailing can do to an old truck -- make it look brand new again. Its still and old truck, and an automatic at that, so its real condition is anyone's guess.

It has also been in a crash.

Lots of threads on importing US trucks into Canada , get the DCSB Offroad if that's what you really want OP , but maybe not that particular truck

Do you have a relative in the states that could buy a new one and then sell it to you?

They haven't been any DCSB 2012 Tacoma's in my province since July.
The demand for manual's is so low they barely make them, but the trucks the do make sell immediately.

I have a 2007 DCSB 4X4 Sport with 60K miles. I like everything about it. I had my hair on fire for an end of year fully loaded 2012. I almost bought it but fortunately came to my senses. The 2012 was a great truck but so is the 2007. The real point of my post is to tell you the dealer was giving me $18K in trade and that was more than any other Toyota dealer. I wouldn't think twice about buying a 2007 but $21K is too much to pay for it unless they certify it through Toyota and give you something close to a new truck warranty.

I can't tell where you are from (on my phone) but if he could get it for 21 000 that would be a fair price. He's in Canada you can save like 7 grand by going to the states

Go Used, they are great trucks and hold up well, let someone else pay for the depreciation of a new vehicle,
I just picked up a 2011 double cab, TRD Sport 4x4 local (vancouver) Truck, 40,000 KMS, bumper to bumper to 100Kms, absolutely mint, extras, 3in lift, tonau cover, steps, aftermarket rims and tires, extra warranty, blue tooth, (6k in extras) total truck almost $50k, stole it for 31K
take your time and find a great deal,
I was on my way to the dealer to buy a brand new truck, glad I found this on the way, definately saved some coin, and the 05-11 body style i prefer.
