Sorry for necroing this thread but I had my ABS and Break light come one this week. I was already having problems with the rear wheel bearing since it started squeaking a while ago so I took out the ABS sensor and it looks like the bearing is pressing against it since the sensor looks like it was grinding against the wheel bearings magnetic strip so I bought a new sensor and struggled to get it in. Took it to a mechanic I trust to get a second opinion and told me it is the rear wheel bearing that has gone bad. They told me that no signal is coming the rear driver side sensor. So they check it with the volt meter to see if the current is reaching the sensor and said it is working just fine. It is likely that the magnetic strip behind the wheel bearing is ground out which it is causing the sensor to not receive any signal. So now I will need to get a new wheel bearing to get rid of the ABS & Break light.

As for the wheel bearing I will be getting SKF bearing. Turns out that SKF just repackages Koyo bearing in rock auto.

Do you think this could this be used for a 2001? Generally maybe?

I don't know. Gen two and three use magnetic strips on the rear of the bearing for the abs while Gen 1 uses tone rings. It could be possible if they you have someone take a look at it.
