I have a 2008 RAV4 limited, 4 cyl. I'm putting it up for sale, but after the first test drive it developed a problem. It has been sitting since November 1st when the tabs expired.

When accelerating it surges, no light on right now. It had a light on a few days ago, but when I filled it with gas the light went out (was empty).

Trying to figure out what the issue is, was thinking gas cap, but that shouldn't cause it to surge. All vacuum lines are good, no audible vacuum leaks.

I know it's hard without a scan code, but what's your thoughts?

    128k miles on it.

Have you connected a reader to see if there are pending codes?

Some types take multiple key cycles with the problem in place to set a light.

I have not, I'm going to do some neighborhood driving tonight to see if I can get the light to come back on. I did a discharge on the system already so the codes are cleared.
