I haven't put any updates on here yet. But alot has transpired since i pulled the engine. Alot of waiting on parts and and sourcing. I changed jobs so that took some adjusting also. Good news is the motor is finally assembled and the ruck is running again. I will post up pics and vids shortly. All the engine building was done by me in my garage except the boring over of the block and hot tanking and decking of the heads.

Here I test fitted the crank from my old motor since it had no damage and looks in good condition I cleaned and polished the journals, then sent off the donor block to the machine shop to be bored .020 over. I received my rods from BC and my pistons from LC Engineering. these are cast pistons not forged but will be suitable for what i am trying to acheive.

I assembled the block and with all new King Bearings for mains, rods, and thrust washers to specs. I used new main studs from toyota and the BC rods come with ARP hardware. I aquired a regular 4 runner upper and lower oil pan since i couldnt find a xrunner one. but i welcomed the deeper pan with a higher oil capacity. I got the front cover, upper oil pan, and valve covers powdercoated

I ported the intake ports on the cylinder heads and sent my camshafts out to BC so they can do a cam regrind. I received my kelford springs with new seats and vitton valve seals. I also purchased all new valves from Rocky Japan. (they are a oem after market company that manufactures parts in japan) I sent the heads off the the machine shop and they said they only took about .008 off the deck, they reseated all the new valves. The heads look great.

I installed the ARP head stud kit from LC Engineering, I installed the heads with New OEM head gaskets and torqued them down to ARP specs. I installed an entire timing chain kit from toyota, I installed the front cover and sealed it all up with FPIG and new water pump, new gaskets and o rings on everything.

I installed the fuel rail and odds and ends to get her ready to go in. Finally the day cam to install the engine, I had to clearance the rear subframe passenger side a bit to fit the non xrunner oil pan ( Nothing crazy) i put all new stainless fasteners on the valve covers intake manifold and brackets to dress her up a bit. installed the aluminum radiator, topped her off with all oem coolant and lucas SAE 30 break in oil. I drained that year old pump 93 and put 10 gallons of e85. I turned her over with no plugs or fuel pump relay to get oil moving thorough the engine for several cranks. then the moment of truth put plugs and coils in, connected the fuel pump. primed the fuel system and she started right up. held it at 2500 for 20 mins, then let her cool down, flushed the oil and put Lucas SAE 30 break in oil and im slowly breaking her in. so far shes got 100 miles on her. another 900 and she will get VR! oil change, new plugs, new intercooler goin in soon, and off to the dyno

I really like those stainless fasteners for the valve covers. As well as the color schemes that you chose. Get some more miles on it, and let's see what she does on the dyno!!!

I also got a new knob from throttle, I like the feel of it more than the ball type knob

I will be building new mounting brackets and modifying hot/ cold pipe as needed to install my new intercooler in the next few weeks or so. I was told to install a larger wastegate and reposition it by the tuner but I think I'm going to hold off on that and get the trunk tuned. I can always make that change later and have a quick dyno or street pull session to make the changes required.
I currently have a 40mmWG he suggested to opt for a 50mm WG

Damn sorry to hear your engine gave up the ghost but awesome build. You and I make super similar torque, I was able to put down 422ftlb at the tires but man am I jealous of your hp.

Now this is going to be quite exciting. Solid build.

I am really anxious to see what it can make now with a safe tune.

Is there a power goal you are going for, or a PSI goal?

I'm aiming for 550-600 rwhp... I don't want to go past 14-15 psi since I'm not using forged pistons and they are factory compression
