So I found this thread because my doors wont lock or unlock with the remote for sometime now.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/198658-bad-door-lock-actuators.html

And i went through the steps of taking the door panel off, taking out the locking mechanism, taking apart the locking mechanism and cleaning the actuator motor of carbon and putting it back together.

    It all worked BUT......

NOW MY DOOR DOES NOT LOCK AT ALL!

The switch inside my door next to my handle moves back and forth when i press the button the remote to lock and unlock my door but the door can just be opened from the outside when the door is showing locked.

If anyone has any experience with this mechanism , i surely could use some assistance. I just dont want to pay the dealership 500 dollars (300 for the part and 200 and labor they quoted me) to replace this.

    thanks for looking.
