I just got a call from the dealer. My wheels and tires were stolen last night. There's some damage on the rear quarter panels and the vehicle is dropped on the drums

Sure does. I can understand why we have to leave our vehicles with them for a freaking month.

I'm sure going to try. I will get brand new rims out of the deal at least. My tires were brand-new anyway.

That just ain't right. Have you tried an inspection? They tap it with a hammer and try to make a whole actually

should of looked into the existing thread about frames. It seems pretty common practice for the dealer to tell you that you need new shocks and if you supply them they will install free. Reason being in most cases the OE shocks need to be cut off so of course ya need need new shocks because of them sawing them off. That saves them from supplying the new shocks ,win win for them . You asked about shocks ahead of time and they saw you coming and got greedy. Anything needed to be replaced because of them doing the swap is on them . I have pages of things they replaced on mine with no charge to the owner. Research first then go in with both barrels loaded so they can't intimidate or BS you and let them know you have done your home work. They are well paid to do the job and know pretty much what they can get extra from the customers for something Toyota is already going to pay them for . Nice deal if you let them get away with it. Plenty of existing info on the topic , look first then ask

I read through dozens of pages and there seems to be a big difference between dealerships on what they replace at "no labor" I'm happy to hear you had good luck and hope the new dealer I'm working with is as good. Thanks

That really stinks what happened to your truck! I hope they treat you right.

I took my truck to the dealer today for the inspection. After looking at it on Sunday, We couldn’t really find anything significant. We hit it all around with the hammer. After an hour waiting they were done and they did find a hole.

The service guy didn’t give me any documents is that common? He said he would call me when he gets an answer from Toyota.

The first place I went to seize my vehicle right away and got me in a loner. The second place didn't give me any paperwork said they'd call me in a few days just like you and now I'm in the process of getting it replaced.

Turned my truck in April 15th, they wanted to give me a Corolla. Told them I needed a truck due to being a firefighter and I would load their trunk with carcinogens and risk future drivers of cancer. They had enterprise come pick me up and put me in an F150 4x4. A week later the AC went out. They put me in another F150. This one reeked of smoked and was never cleaned. Took it to a different enterprise and to my surprise they had a 19 Calvary Blue TRD OR Tacoma. Guy looked at me and said you sure you wanna downgrade from a full size and I'm pretty sure my facial expression let him know haha. I'm loving this new Tacoma and as for service in getting the frame replaced with parts the dealership has been great so far. No upselling on anything. Only thing that was said was that my exhaust had a hole in it. They quoted me $687 for a new factory exhaust with free labor. Walked out to the truck. Ordered a MBRP exhaust for $382 with an online discount code and asked if they could postpone working on my frame for a couple of days while I waited for it to arrive. The dude was super cool and said sure. So got the exhaust yesterday and went and droped it off. He said my truck was good to go other than the exhaust and labor was free. They are also putting back on my sway bar with the extension brackets and adjusting my coilovers for free. I met the mechanic and he told me to put a list of requests on the seat and hed take care of it. Only issue was that they wont replace the leaf springs without charging labor because of the AAL but he said the springs were fine and I should have no issues especially due to having 2 additional springs for support. Didnt have to sign anything though yet.

A question I do have is does a frame replacement make resale less desirable as I have listed my truck for sale here and will do it elswhere when I get it back?

I'm not sure by the book If one with the new frame would sell for more. But when I was looking for a Tacoma I was certainly more interested in one set had the new frame although I didn't get one. LOL

Okay, that makes me feel better. He said he should hear something within 4 days. And that it would take 6-8 weeks for the frame to come in.

I like the idea of talking to the mechanic. We are going to have to do that. So far everyone has been super nice about it.
