I totally agree. The first place I went to told me I would have no contact with the mechanic. The place I'm at now says I will be talkin with the mechanic regularly. Much better

My truck is going in on Wednesday for inspection. Hope they well help me. Maybe I should go out and tap it with a hammer and try to get a hole.

I was sure that they weren't going to find anything significant on our truck and they did. That looks pretty bad in my opinion. Good luck.

It seems to me that most dealer wants you to fail. That way they get to work and make lots of money. Lol

True that. I said "wow that didn't take long" when the service guy came to get me. He responded by saying that the mechanic doing it has had a lot of practice and that they pay him a lot to do a good job. ahahaha.

I took my 2008 Sport to the dealer for an inspection today, this hole in the weld of the cross member above the LCA. They said they would submit a claim to Toyota and get back to me, what are my chances?

Although that's not the spot mine failed I was told that is the most common spot for them to rot.

That looks more like Zeibart to me. CRC is much more greasy and would have a lot of dirt stuck to it. Also, its no where near as shiny as whats on that frame. Toyota may refute the claim if it is Zeibart, thats nasty stuff and is known to accelerate rusting.

I will try to check that spot out but it seems solid in that area

I believe you are right, it’s glossy and flakes off. Are you saying Toyota will deny my claim since it’s zeibart or accept my claim? It’s still all up in the air and I don’t know what will happen

I took mine in a month ago, 2 days after I bought it knowing full well it would pass and it did. That was right as tire season was starting to ramp up around here.

My plan is to bring it back for another inspection this coming January when all the techs are sitting around with no work and some Christmas bills to pay off and hopefully they call it just out of wanting some work lol
