Does your vin number change with the frame replacement? How does that work?

They stamp your original vin number on the new frame at the factory, that’s why it takes so long to my understanding

WE GOT APPROVED!!! I had to call them today because i hadn't heard anything. I was on hold for 5+ minutes, getting a little worried. But its all good! 4-6 weeks wait on frame he said.

Very Good ! They let my buddy come in and take pics when the cab was off some parts on new frame and some on old. Show the pictures to the Wrangler guys what happens when a Tacoma needs a new frame and ask what Jeep does for theirs . I know because I have had to deal with all of the help ya don't get from Jeep

Not until they take it in to do the replacement. They said it wasn't bad enough to hold.

There's a new frame at the dealer where my frame is gonna be done. The frame has a sticker on it with the last 5 numbers of my vin. I think it's my frame?

What would a frame replacement cost if you were to do it out of pocket?

(ie. If you didn't qualify for free replacement but still wanted a new frame?)

I read dealers are billing out at 11-15K. Somewhere I saw that a non dealer shop was 9K. Might be BS tho.

You've got a big set my friend. Nice work.

And that's just the first post of the thread! I've got some reading to do. Not sure how I missed this thread.

What's the status on wheel and tire replacement OP?

As far as I can see the vin is not stamped into the replacement frame or carried over anywhere. I've crawled under my truck and thoroughly gone over and looked at everything since the frame has been replaced but havent found it. It's a bare frame with only various stickers which include the claim number issued by Toyota when your truck first qualifies, the dealer ID performing the replacement and some stickers with your/the owners name. I took pictures of them in case they decide to fall off or wash away.

Overall my observation is that they changed certain holes and the locations of them between my old frame and the new frame. There's also a layer of silicone/epoxy that appears to be laid between or just along the edge of where separate layers meet to IMO eliminate the delamination some people where experiencing. There also seems to be a foam layer that I've found between certain areas of the frame and any where they had to scratch the surface to attach a ground strap was painted over to prevent sightly rust. They even provide covers that are installed to prevent dirt from entering the boxed portion of the frame. The hole that was previously located inside the cab mount behind the front tires is gone and the 2 holes just below that have been plugged with bolts. Those holes where previously threaded on my frame.

My truck qualified February 6th and I got it back on April 27th. Just over 3 months from start to finish. It's an 06 4dr off-road and only been in Washington state it's entire life.
